SUBJECT
The Artists at Risk Programme supports artists and cultural workers with outstanding artistic positions whose artistic freedom is restricted or threatened by the social and political situation in their countries. The fellowships awarded under the programme run for up to 12 months and support the artists in their needs in Germany.
As mentor, Pamela Owusu-Brenyah is the first contact person and exchange partner. Together with the artists, she formulates goals and works on the concrete topics and questions based on them. In the process, she passes on valuable know-how and her extensive network. The goal of the mentoring relationship is to further the professional and personal development of the mentee in Germany.
Furthermore, the focus of the programme is on strengthening the artistic profile of the scholarship recipients and the realisation of their artistic projects in order to make them visible in the Berlin cultural scene. .
In addition to artistic support, the mentor also helps with organisational and bureaucratic matters regarding residence, accommodation and more.
